How Do Escape Rooms Work?

Rate this post

The theme of this week’s post is Escape challenges, so if you’re curious as to what that is, stay here because we’ll tell you all about it. Having an adventure is a great way to spend time with friends, or as a team-building exercise for companies. There’s no doubt that an escape room will provide enough fun to bring you through the paces, no matter whether you’re in charge of a new team or part of a group of friends looking for a fun day out.

An escape room is what?

There is no escape from an escape room – you are locked in with no way out, and your only option is to work with friends or work colleagues to solve the puzzles that are left for you in the room so you can escape.

In addition to the escape rooms, there are some with features of hyper-reality as well. I would like to mention a few general characteristics

The following are some general characteristics

It doesn’t matter what features the escape room has, it’ll usually be a team-based activity with up to 12 people participating. There is a strong emphasis on finding a way out through teamwork, by working through clues and working your way through puzzles. There’s usually a story behind an escape room; you’ll play a character that has to escape, and you can only escape with the help of your colleagues.

The theme will be tailored to the character you are playing. In any case, the rooms will be decorated accordingly if you’re a prisoner or a hostage in an alien/spacecraft scenario. It should be a high-quality escape room with no expense spared, and the people running it should spare no expense.

A room should be amazing and the work that went into it should be evident in every aspect.

Playing puzzles

The puzzles will consist of finding hidden objects or solving crosswords. There can be things you have to match together, and objects that need to be put together. You’ll have to be able to think quickly and outside of your comfort zone, and you’ll also have to have a little creativity.

As you enter the room, there will be lots of puzzles for you to solve and eventually, after all the puzzles have been solved, you will be able to make your escape. You will be given a time limit of 60 minutes to finish the escape.

An escape room can be distinguished by a number of features, such as:

  • A lock and key
  • A locked door
  • Multiple rooms
  • Hidden doors
  • Puzzles
  • A theme.

Our escape rooms here in London are enjoyable and challenging enough to accommodate small teams of up to six people, so if you want to try one out, come and join us. As we have 3 rooms, you can bring a large team of up to 18 people at a time. Your team will need to work together and communicate for an hour to find your way out.
